Announcing Driftmoon

The new game we’re working on (with Anne) is now officially named Driftmoon. To celebrate this I’ve put together a selection of screenshots for your viewing pleasure. You can see the rest of the screenshots on the Driftmoon page. You can tell me your impressions in the Comments section. I’ve got a really good feeling about this game, so please tell me what you think.

I will be posting more information here as we go on, so stay tuned!

I like the way the new monkkonen.net site has turned out – Ville’s painted figures frame the site nicely, and the user interface seems easy to handle.

I’m also really excited about the new game, Driftmoon! In my opinion it already looks great, and of course it’s getting better and better as the work progresses! I’m happy to be in the position to actually see the development process from close by, and also take part in some aspects of it.

I loved notrium and this new one Driftmoon looks like it’ll be amazing as well. Keep up the good work.

  3. VilleVille says:

Thanks Derek! If you loved Notrium and hoped it would have more depth and variety, and less repetitive gameplay, you’re going to love Driftmoon. :)

Yeah looks awesome, i’m sure this suprasses even notrium. Keep it up Ville!

Looks really good… Iv been playing Notrium for a couple years (With wine.. Means I have linux.. But out of all the games I have played with wine I think Notrium is the best)

I cant wait for the game to be done… the screen shots are really great…

  6. VilleVille says:

I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten the games working with Wine. Basically the Driftmoon engine could support Linux, so support for Linux and Mac may be coming after the initial release.

Looks superb, but I guess this won’t have robots or lasers? Sigh. *wistful thoughts of pew pew*

  8. VilleVille says:

Yes, no robots or lasers. But there will be magic, won’t it be just as cool? :)
I’m hoping to include full modding tools with Driftmoon, so you can add the lasers yourself.

  9. DaanDaan says:

There was a wise man who once said something on the subject of magic and technology:

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic.

So technically, e’re going to have really advanced robots and lasers. ;)
