There have been quite a few bugfixes to Notrium, and I’m proud to present Notrium 1.345 downloadable here.
All of the bugs already existed in the vanilla 2005 version, but thanks to improvements in compiler technology we’re now getting hard crashes for these instead of random behaviour. This enables me to find the problems and fix them. If you’re getting any crashes, please comment here so I can fix it.
If you’re working on a mod for Notrium, I encourage you to use this latest version. If you’re now getting crashes and didn’t previously, just tell me and I’ll get it fixed.

It’s always nice to see coders fix up their old work (I certainly enjoy fixing my old code!). As soon as I get some free time, I know exactly what I’ll be doing with it… revisiting Notrium.
I certainly do not enjoy fixing my old code. But it should be done if it’s buggy, and so I do it
Anyway, time for me to test it… when I get crucial work done…

Today I tried the SOS mod and the game seems to crash every time I am attacked by the carnivore plant(or whatever it is just lying on the ground smashing its tentacle into whoever walks around). It is quite a good motivation for not getting hit, but its frustrating nonetheless.

I don’t remember such things in SOS. Maybe you got hit by carnivore grubs? They live in that area where the only plants with tentacles grow that I can remember…

Those are the same tentacle-thing that look like the ones you enounter in the psionic life force mindscape where you have to use your armor
Tried it. Didn’t crash for me. How often does it crash for this reason?
Since I can’t seem to find the correct plant, could anybody who’s getting the crash send me a savegame of the correct place. Also, which version of SOS are you playing?

And as for the version. It is something like 0.07. What I downloaded through this site about a month or so back.
I think I found a bug (though I’m supprised no one else has seen it). When mounting the hoverbike and hoverbike MkII in the Werivar mod (latest game, latest mode, downloaded both yesterday), the camera zooms to the top left of the map. Haven’t tried in the vanilla version of the game, but i can’t see any difference between the vanilla hoverbike and Werivar’s hoverbike or keycard.
I think people were testing default mod without hoverbike – no one wants to use it in default, really

its happening to me too it goes way over to the top left corner of the map but im playing in default mod…
I managed to fix it. I’m releasing a new version after I can track down the crash in SOS mod.

I haven’t managed to find the SOS bug yet, and I’m waiting for that. If anyone can give any light on it, or even send a save game where it happens, it might speed things up a bit.
Well, about that hoverbike…. You can carry as much as you want on it and it is never “heavy enough to press on the ground”, so with MKII you can travel in that hoverbike, pick up advanced flame turret with V key and be almost invincible
… that is… Untill that “worm of snipers” comes near you (some mod which I now use as default).
