Modding/mod Related Websites

ZeXLR8er 20 years ago
A few people have asked if someone could make a thread for people to post their mod/modding websites, so here it is.

These are the things to post here:

Your websites that contain your mods or mod progress

Any websites that you think are a great help for modding, like places you can download free sounds, or get textures or graphics.

Please try and keep anything you post here concise and to the point. If it works like it's supposed to, this thread will be basically a list of websites with a brief description, so people can browse through it without going through mountains of off-topic conversation.

Quanrian - Any post that doesn't include a link, IE is just talking about a previous post IS considered off topic.

Please don't post unless you've got a link to offer as that is the specific purpose of this thread.

Any information regarding the link should be provided in the same post.

I'll start off:

ZeXLR8er's Official Mods Momepage: http://zexlr8er.tripod.com/notrium

This is the official site for my mods. It's still very much in construction, but once it's finished, you'll be able to vote, submit ideas, write in the guestbook, download my mods and much more. Everyday it'll be a bit more finished, so keep checking it. To get there quick, just click on my sig.

A great site; it's been almost invaluable to me for my mods. In it you can download thousands of textures, sounds and graphics. A must-visit for anyone completly modding Notrium.

Another great site; if you ever want to download sounds for your mods, here is the place to do it. I think they probably have almost every sound ever heard on their site somewhere.

Alot of people seem to be interested in getting a good, yet free graphics editing program. So here is one.

http://www.gimp.org/

GIMP works fairly similar to Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, it can even use many of the same plugins. The best part about GIMP when regarding Notrium is the ease of creating images with masks. Basically you don't have to even bother creating a mask. Anything transparent or entirely see through is automatically saved into the alpha channel when you save as a Targa file, saving you the hassle of messing with any settings.

The homepage of my Notrium File Viewer, which is an editor for the notrium data files. I plan to update it whenever a new version of Notrium is released.

Hi guys!

I'm a amature graphic maker. I'm busy making pics for another freeware clone of a cometial game called STARS! To look at some of my work go to http://www.groep7.co.za/stars/index.htm and click on the Freestars! link. All the pics are made in 3D Max 3. Anybody interested in me helping them with graphics, I'd be more than happy as long as I get Credit for it

Hi guys. I've completed the basic framework of my site for notrium. http://www.groep7.co.za/Notrium/

It'll include everything I can lay my hands on including my own "story", Faq and pics I made in 3D Max, plus all the links I can get (Mail me if I havn't mailed you yet!) and info on different mods I've played and some Mod Ideas.

ps. I've got an idea for a mod but probably won't use it ever as I don't think I'll ever have enough time to make one. It goes like this : Office Wars. A complete war thru the office to kill your boss. You'll use weapons like staplers, rulers, rubbers etc.

I have a collection of 400 patent-less ( as long as you dont use them on commercial project) sound effects ( .wav ) files in my computer. I can share them with you via FTP:

If you are interested send me a message and i will activate the server.

I found what seems to be a really nice program for sprite design. I'm not sure how well this will help with Notrium since I've thus far had very limited exposure, however I thought I'd post the link anyways. I hope you all can find some use out of it.

You'll want to click that blue button right next to the little guy thrusting his sword up to download the program

More ads for you!

I've created the forum. You can discuss anything about Notrium and list your own mod.

http://thaimodz.itezy.com/forum/

The mod listed here must have no discussion and have deep details. You can post large screenshots too! But please resize it first.

Free (open source) audio editor. It's enough for me. Cut and paste, some nice effects etc.

The name gives it all away. Search engine for sounds, and it works very well.

Here's the link for the cell set I use to create creatures. I'll be including this in the new Barebones as well whenever I get around to doing that. There are two files for each size, one is the grid, the other is just the cell with a premade border. This mainly helps in creating creatures, but they can also be used to extract frames as well from premade creature graphics.

No updates in this thread...

Anyway, GrabCaptureScreen is a great program for getting screen captures, and works in maximized games.
If you have an earlier version of Windows (than XP) there's also the programs smaller brother, GrabClickSave, on the same website.
