Is there a specific program for Notrium that lets you mod, or do you just edit files and what not? Though how would one make new sprites then...?

ANYWAYS, I wanna get a bit of scripting like stuff under my belt for when school comes, im doing some html scripting. Even though modding a game and html code are probably worlds apart, im also going to be joining the wonderful world of TES: Oblivion modding soon aswell.

So can you either give me a list of programs that help you mod?

Or can someone sort of give me a heads up, or let me help them mod, do simple stuff? I just gotta learn

thanks, get back to me

To mod Notrium you need to edit the files in ...\Notrium\data\*mod name* with notepad.
I recommend that you get notepad++ because it's basically notepad with tabs and other useful features.

To edit the textures you need an editing program which supports transparency, like The Gimp. Looks in ...\Notrium\textures\

I also recommend that you get the modding FAQ.

Also looks around the forum for tips on how to mod.

I gotta free space up on my pc though to hold onto GIMP, cause GIMPS like 400mb right? And on an 8 year old pc, 400mb is allot...

Thanks. By the way, whats your "Vacuum Mod" Is it stable?

I wanna play a Mod

The Gimp's about 15-20mb.
And my mod only has the vacuum features in the currently unreleased version, I'm still working on it. The version on the internet is stable, but it lacks levels and overall playtime.

Ah i had GIMPshop, it is..huger, but nicer, but sadly had to uninstall. Oh well. Im not goona try anything with new sprites until i get a little better with notepad++

Hey is notepad plus does it support C++ Coding? Cause if it does, it's actually quiet possible for one to actually make his own program with it

C++ programming can be done with any plain text editor. On top of that, Notepad++ supports syntax highlighting and possible code completion and other things to help coding. However you need a compiler to turn the code into a program. The compiler is not part of Notepad++.

The modding FAQ is definitely your best source next to the modding Q+A forums. So many frustrating problems are solved by having the FAQ on your comp for reference so definitely download it. I also feel your pain about an old comp, mine still runs win98 lol.
