Building

To make the structure stiffer I added little pegs to the corners. In the bottom below the sides you can see the makings of the wind tunnel.

Here the case is upside down. You can see the wind tunnel innards. I've added a plywood piece with a hole for the fan. I used blue silicone to prevent air from coming through the holes in the sides of the plywood. On top of this there will be another plywood piece with a hole in the other end. Fan noise has to travel through the tunnel before it is heard, thus it dampens considerably.

I made little legs for the case from scrapped pieces of birch with dad's self made lathe. Big screws are used to bolt the legs to the case. To reduce sound resonating from the case to the table, the legs are not directly connected to the screws. Not surprisingly I could only find rusty screws, and one is a lot shorter than the others.
