    Soooo. Shatter.
    Available on Steam for near-nothing (E ;P). (- well, not anymore. It's back to 8€ now :/)

Basically, a breakout clone featuring constant explosions, arcade shooter-ified gameplay and BOSS BATTLES.

    It's frickin' awesome.
No, seriously. The amount of strategy involved, while not THAT big, is quite surprising. Too bad there is no VS mode, pong-style (featuring all of the awesome explosions, of course). But at least there's hot-seat co-op, one of the most awesome inventions since the invention of computer games.

It's short, though. Around 90 short levels of story mode*, and after that it's high scorage in endless or time-trial mode. That's my only complaint.

    * Story? Nice joke Basically, a dysfunctional power plant part goes on a rampage to destroy the evil orwellian space robot empire led by a pong paddle.

Christmas holidays are upon us! Who's in for more Alien Swarm in the next few weeks?

I'd love to. When I'm not playing League of Legends. Or studying, of course.

We still have a week of school btw. Not that it matters because most classes already ended.

I think I got a few more people hooked on Minecraft.
(basically, there were three guys over at my place, and the whole thing [d]evolved into a hot-seat Minecraft Let's Play)
This also means I had enough sleep tonight! (a whole... 23 minutes.)

That reminds me... my spare laptop could host a Minecraft server, leaving my desktop for playage. Who wants to give it a try soon?
    #
    Anonymous1157 13 years ago
    I'd play!

I'd also be interested in a game of GMod Spacebuild, though from what I remember, nobody else on the forum really liked the Life Support mod that much. (AND it's gotten EVEN MORE complicated since the last time I saw it. )

Remind me which continent you're on. Grim and I tried to play on a server I hosted, but the lag was horrible. If you're within a reasonable ping distance from me, I'd be up for it.

Me and Narvius played a bit of Minecraft recently. It was somewhat ok. Too bad the laptop sometimes really can't keep up with some processing (water in caves and other shenanigans). Also, I'm in the west of Europe.

If you mean Spacebuild 3, that would be fun. Except that all the necessary resources for it are a few gigabytes big. Life Support 3 is a bit more complicated, but it turns out to have more capabilities than the previous version.

Then I probably won't get even remotely decent lag. Also, if your desktop is more powerful than your laptop, you should use it as the host instead; the server software is more strenuous than the client software.

I've never tried Spacebuild 3 or Life Support 3. I just sort of gave up after trying an old version of Spacebuild 2 once; it hurt my brain (and was buggy).

It's a bit embarrassing, but the laptop's processor is actually better than the desktop's. Not to mention that I can hardly play games on my laptop due to overheating.

What, spacebuild 2 was buggy? Also, Life Support 3 can just be used in sandbox as well (for air, though it's hardly anything interesting).
If we're ever up for this, we'll be needing to install several addons, by the way.

And one more thing, am I missing any of you guys' Steam name on my friends list?

I've got E, 'Marth, MK, Grim.

Life Support in Sandbox is only really interesting if you're playing an underwater map, but those aren't very common. (Unless, of course, you've built serious water contraptions on one of the many "gm_ocean" maps.)

I've STILL got a friend invitation I sent LAST SUMMER sitting in Crazy's inbox. Other than that, I've got everyone on Narvius's list short of Murska but including Thaif.

You do know Crazy had more than one account, right? And that none of them had been checked within the past month or so (when I checked)?

As for you, E, I think I recently sent a friend invite to you, but I could be misremembering (I went on a spree and don't remember exactly whose names I noticed and friended). I'll check next time I'm on steam and add you if you're not there.

    Tastes Like Spelunky.

The most hilariously stupid and possibly most polished Spelunky mod there is.

    You play the man-eater.
    You're a fucking man-eating plant.

The mechanics are surprisingly thought-out (gameplay- and joke-wise, it doesn't really make much sense in terms of realism. I mean - you swallow items to learn to use them - okay... there's nothing more fierce than a plant with a biological jetpack spitting shotgun salves!).
    I like it.

And no, I have no idea why it's hosted on rpgmaker.net.

I'm not sure why I didn't ask earlier, but... Anyone interested in a game of Neptune's Pride?

I will quote from two reviews:
    "Craig Lager" said:
Do you have friends? Because after playing Neptune’s with them you wont be able to look them in the eye again, ever. You can’t trust them post-Pride - a vale of deceit and minor hatred will come between you, borne out of paranoia and mis-trust, not to mention backstabbing and all out warfare. Neptune’s Pride lets you find out what your friends are really capable of. Neptune’s brings out the very worst in people, bubbling underhand tactics and outright lies to the surface.
    "Jim Rossignol" said:
What’s best about Neptune’s Pride, I suspect, is that it keeps things simple. It facilitates the natural urges of players to ally, doublecross, or otherwise politic their way through what is a social situation. Your empire probably isn’t going to survive without other people. Space bound imperialism is a social animal. As in life, so in Neptune’s Pride. Play with friends for the most chilling results.
I haven't tried it myself, but I encountered it today and I thought, what the hell, I want to try this.

It's browser-based, it seems to be free, it might or might not be still in beta, and I have high hopes for it. Anyone up for a game here?
Also I hope it's better than Corona Celestia where nothing happens AT ALL.

[edit]seems that there are open free games and closed paid games with some more options. The system seems pretty okay, if the free thing fails and there's sufficient real interest I'm willing to pay so that we have our private game.

    LIES. Scandalous lies.

If nothing ever happened, how did I become the second-largest house in the game?

Ha ha ha ha ha... You think I grind? I really don't. I just concentrated my growth on improving my income so that I could do more and more every time I logged on. It just snowballed from there.

Of all the changes, I love Charcoal the most. Seriously, nothing could have made me happier than to remove the requirement that I locate Coal before I can craft torches.
