Is magebane based on Gary Gygax's D&D rules? or did you base it on a similar form of AD&D?

Everybody is/has been influenced by D&D, hell I still play it every now and then with my mates (though most of the time we play Icewind Dale/Neverwinter Nights at Lans). I don't think villé can say yes or no, D&D has made a massive influence on people.

Theres no difference, Wizard's of the Coast bought the rights to gary's d&d.

It hasn't been influenced by anything in particular. I had been playing a lot of Baldur's Gate at the time though, it might have had something to do with that.

Yeah baldur's gate is d&d .

The game isn't based on D&D in the sense of rules, it's not even turn based, and there are no dice thrown in any point.

are you sure? i was positivite it was (most probably since my mate who plays those games plays alot of bladur's gate), im going to check that.

EDIT:
Uses a real time modification of the AD&D ® rules system

Oh, I meant Magebane didn't use AD&D rules. I know Baldur's Gate does as they complained about paying the wizards huge sums of money for the license.

But I had no idea there were real time AD&D rules, I wonder if they could be applied to board games?
