I should avoid this thread. But the damage is done.
    Legerdemain :3

Actually, you can save anytime, roguelike fashion. It's a one-time suspension save, though.

I've noticed Yahtzee made his "special edition" games available for free. That means slightly expanded versions of 1213 and the entire Chzo series, some extra documents, soundtracks and Yahtzee's own commentary. I've been wanting to replay those games for a while, I suppose I now have found a good reason.

    Download on <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/donate.htm">http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/donate.htm</a><!-- m --> (and don't mind the URL).

I've played Trilby's Notes and 1213 before (Which I enjoyed very much), but I never got around to playing the other games. I suppose I have an excuse now!

You should play them in order really... 5DAS, 7DAS, TN, the countdown text adventures, 6DAS.

I'm currently kind of excited about Borderlands.

    RPGFPS: Check
    Sci-Fi/Post Apoc theme: Check
Random generation of weapons and enemies: Check
Online squad based play with persistent character: Check
Left behind realism for the sake of fun factor: Check

I mean, the more I read about this game the greater my anticipation. If they managed to implement all these ideas well it'll be amazing. Not to mention the bold box art. Good stuff.

Now the hard question... PC or 360?

If there will be DLC, would it be free for PC users?

Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please! on Steam! Only 4 EUR which is less then, I dunno, something very cheap. You really, really should get them. Funniest adventure games EVER.

Isn't Ben There, Dan That, like, free?
    #
    Amarth 14 years ago
Err, yeah. Shht. Doesn't matter much though. TGP costs 3 GBP which is (currently) about 3.5 EUR, so that's 0.5 EUR difference from Steam because Valve probably also wants its share of the profit. I dunno, make your own pick. It's still ridiculously cheap IMO.

I'm not going to buy any games so soon. I bough Guitar Hero World Tour some days ago, and I'm sure the money was well spent on this one. I'm talking about the PC version, FYI.

The only money I'll spend next time is a Wii Motion Plus with Sports Resort.
    #
    Anonymous1157 14 years ago
I read somewhere that Wii Motion Plus drivers are in the works for Wii homebrew, or that they will be. I don't remember which.

Also, I finished MP2 a few days ago, and started on MP1. (Yes, I'm playing Metroid Prime out of order. It was an accident that I didn't feel like fixing because it seemed like a better idea to just finish MP2 first when I finally got MP1.) If, for some awkward reason, one of you haven't played it yet, do so. It's worth it.

It's interesting that you got Guitar Hero 4 for PC, E. Was it worth it over console versions?

For people without consoles, the answer is a resounding YES.

You are right about your doubt. Aspyr's port could use some tweaks, plus the system requirements are relatively big.
However, as Murska said, I don't have a gaming console (me olde PSX doesn't count), therefore it was the best choice. I was desperate to get my hands on a real guitar controller as well.
So Murska, when's your turn to have it?
    #
    Murska 14 years ago
Already got mine but the guitar controller is busted right out of the box so I sent a complaint.

Just chiming in to say that X-Men Origins: Wolverine (uncaged obviously) is the biggest bunch of joy I've played in quite a while.

    Its a hl2 mod.

Can someone who is not me play it and tell me... is it normal to stare at the credits screen for ten minutes trying to figure what the hell was the author smoking?

    Have you tried Hammerfight?
I'm totally hooked. Just see the trailer!

It's rather interesting. Too bad I don't have the time for playing those.

Also, there's a "change to ENG" text, for those who haven't noticed it.

World Of Goo is now having a birthday sale. You can purchase the game for whatever you think it's worth (that's right, you get to name the price!), up 'til October 19th.

    Linky!

And yeah, sadly offer is not available fer the WiiWare version.

Why would anyone complain over $5? Liek srsly. Oh, and has there been any word on the previously-Europe-retail-only expansion pack? I want to play Episode 6 already!

In other news, anyone that actually paid for Opera (... Me.) gets a free retarded re-release edition NES game from Virtual Console which has been superseded ten times over by homebrew emulators, and one has at least all of this month to redeem it.

This isn't a double-post because it's been at least a day, not to mention the fact that I actually have something substantial to finish.

In case you didn't know (I don't blame you for not knowing, actually), a movie has been in the works for a while based around Noctis, that procedurally generated galaxy simulator involving cats that most of the forum members have at least heard of. The author has run into Real Life and can't work on the movie for a while, but did manage to release a new trailer.

    Author's website.
    The trailer on YouTube.

For those who've preordered their copy of L4D2, you can start preloading the demo now.

    E_net4 14 years ago
I see. I shall wait until they release the demo to the public for a few days.

    Hm, okay, lets try again.

    POST: So, um...

Anyone else is having a laugh riot reading the reactions to the endless delaying of the l4d2 demo on the steam forums?
    #
    E_net4 14 years ago
I don't usually log onto Steam when at University. Yet I saw the Batter up vid. If it delays until Saturday or something in the weekend, that would be great.

Luckily, the L4D2 demo for preordering types is availables naow.

I just found a funny flash game
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.theswain.com/Flash/MWC.htm">http://www.theswain.com/Flash/MWC.htm</a><!-- m -->
    it's hilarious

    Anonymous1157 14 years ago
Hilarious? Awesome describes it better. The author has talent! Unfortunately, I beat the game in about an hour and a half on the first try having only lost once. I was literally SECONDS away from winning, and something destroys my lunar base! Luckily, I got to restart from just before I began the last mission, so winning was a breeze.

    It's oddly addict--

    ...

... Oh, wait a minute, I've seen this before somewhere.

    Narvius 14 years ago
I've played it (I think) over a year ago, it's awesome, yesh.
